Aicha Zekar

Aicha Zekar is a PhD student advised by Prof. Dr. Felix Creutzig. Aicha is also affiliated with New York University Abu Dhabi, where she works as an instructor in the Department of Civil Engineering. She received her MSc degree in Engineering Systems and Management at Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (Khalifa University) in Abu Dhabi, with a research focus on building thermal system modeling and buildings energy efficiency.

Aicha’s research is broadly concerned with the sustainable urban development, energy efficiency, and the use of machine learning techniques to inform urban public policies. In particular,  the impact of the urban forms on the urban climate and energy consumption.
